Working with industrial applications where pressure and temperature are extreme requires sealing systems capable of ensuring strength and reliability.

Lidering manufactures the LSC10B-FQ high-pressure mechanical seal, an optimised solution that simplifies heavy-duty work in thermal, hydroelectric and oil & gas plants and installations.

Cartridge type mechanical seal for high pressures

Within the catalogue of mechanical seals, we can choose different models of mechanical seals.

Depending on the temperature range, the application and the environment to which they are exposed, there are multiple seal configurations, such as multi-spring, rubber bellows or conical spring seals. Each with specific characteristics and with sealing faces of different elements (silicon carbide, tungsten, graphite or alumina), which can ensure effective sealing according to the specific application and environment.

Well, one of the most advanced sealing models used in high-performance equipment is the mechanical cartridge seal, such as the LSC10B-FQ.

This is an easy to install and maintain mechanical seal design, manufactured by Lidering, with all sealing components integrated into a single pre-assembled unit. This ensures improved system reliability by reducing the risk of errors during seal assembly.

Features of high-pressure mechanical seal model: LSC10B-FQ

The LSC10B-FQ is a single cartridge type mechanical seal, with connections for flushing between the friction faces and Quench system with unpressurised fluid for cooling.

Designed in accordance with API 682 and ISO 21049, this model of industrial seal has been specifically manufactured for applications where high pressures are required.

It is shaped to allow axial movement of up to ± 2.0 mm (depending on diameter and mounting) which, together with the cartridge material, gives it greater resistance to pressure, temperature and wear.

Among its unique features is a combination of optimised components:

  • Balanced multi-spring seal, which minimises friction and reduces wear on the rubbing faces, even under conditions of extreme pressure or high rotational speed.
  • Robust flange and Duplex alloy ring, which reinforce the rotating friction face, providing greater rigidity and stability in equipment subjected to intense vibration and movement.
  • Protective bushing for the springs, preventing deformation due to pressure changes, vibrations or shaft movements.
  • Flush and Quench system (recirculation and cooling), allowing recirculation and cooling to maintain system stability even at high temperatures.
  • Graphite bushing with multi-spring system, which facilitates adaptation to shaft movements and reduces premature wear of the system.

Thanks to these features of the high-pressure mechanical seal model, the LSC10B-FQ is the most optimal cartridge mechanical seal for sectors where pressure and temperature are critical factors.

In which sectors is the LSC10B-FQ mechanical seal used?

High pressure seals are essential in industries where equipment works under extreme conditions. We are talking about the chemical and petrochemical sector, the hydraulic sector or the energy sector.

Let’s take a look at the sectors where the LSC10B-FQ demonstrates its sealing efficiency:

Mechanical seals for the energy industry

Turbines and pumps in power generation plants, such as thermal and hydroelectric plants, require robust mechanical seals capable of withstanding high temperatures and pressure variations.

Mechanical seals for the oil and gas industry

Oil and gas refining, extraction and transportation processes require mechanical seals that can withstand pressures up to 40 bar and high temperatures without compromising safety.

Mechanical seals for the chemical industry and high-pressure industrial processes

Handling corrosive and high temperature fluids requires a safe and efficient sealing system to prevent leaks and premature wear on equipment.

Maximum temperature for a mechanical seal such as the LSC10B-FQ

This model of cartridge mechanical seal has been designed with specifications that make it one of the best sealing solutions for high pressure industrial applications. The LSC10B-FQ can operate within the following parameters:

–    Maximum pressure: 40 bar.

–    Working temperature: -40 ºC to 220 ºC.

–    Maximum speed: 20 m/s.

As you can see, at Lidering we design solutions adapted to each application and industry, such as the manufacture of mechanical seals resistant to high pressures. Contact our mechanical seals experts to find out the best mechanical seals solution for your specific industry.
